About the DMV Chapter

The DMV Chapter of Gurbat Cultural Association serves the Afghan diaspora community across Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia — one of the largest and most established Afghan communities in the United States.

As a local chapter of the Afghan Diaspora Center, we organize cultural events, community gatherings, advocacy initiatives, and support programs tailored to the unique needs of Afghan families in the greater D.C. metro region.

Our work is rooted in Afghan values: hospitality, respect for elders, investment in youth, and an unbreakable connection to our heritage. Whether you are newly arrived or have lived here for decades, you have a home with us.
